I do not think that reading a list of principles can alter your life immediately. It's an illusion that you can compress months of practice and experience into single sentences.
What works for human beings is imitation, observing, apprenticeship. Abstract knowledge, devoid from experience is sometimes a nice shortcut (or a nudge in the right direction) but not much more.
At the same time, I like to collect such principles. Even though it might be not that life-transforming, it is still an extremely valuable peek into the experiences of the other people
